After 8,000 hours of Realism where I use little in the way of charcoal, I thought I might explore this medium a bit more.

Upon researching this it seemed to me that it was ideal for expressionistic portraiture. So at the end of 2024 I set myself up to trial this sort of work.

Over a period of a couple of weeks I drew about 30 pieces, some of which are here.

As ever, more practice is required but I do find it enjoyable.
